The Maison Musée Nicéphore Niépce is the place where the very first photograph in the world was taken by the inventor of photography himself: Nicéphore Niépce. Among other things, the House houses the oldest photographic workshop and laboratory in existence today. This world heritage is preserved by the Spéos School of Photography, which has been awarded the "Maisons des Illustres" label by the French Ministry of Culture, under the patronage of the Académie des Sciences and the Académie des Beaux-Arts.
