With its 502 metres the steel giant sits in the middle of the Lusatia region witnessing the glory days of lignite mining. Only for a short time the conveyer bridge actually transported extracted lignite. Today it is open to the public and attracts many tourists. Instead of dismantling the enormous machine it has been turned into a visitor’s mine thus becoming the nucleus for a conversion of the former industrial plant into a recreation area.
