The 12th INDUSTRIADA Festival celebrates Silesian industrial culture

On 11 September, the Silesian Voivodeship in Poland will celebrate the 12th edition of the largest festival of industrial culture in Eastern Europe. This year's motto is "Surprising Technology". Plan your visit well in advance to get the most out of it: The programme features a total of 341 events at 38 sites in 25 cities – all in just one day!

Once again, the venues include a number of ERIH members on the Regional Route of Silesian Industrial Monuments, including the ERIH Anchor Points "Guido" Coal Mine and Queen Louise Adit in Zabrze, the Brewery Museum in Zywiec and the Historic Silver Mine in Tarnowskie Góry. Other ERIH sites involved are the Zinc Rolling Mill and the Nikiszowiec Workers' Settlement in Katowice, the Bread and School Museum in Radzionków and the Ignacy Historical Mine in Rybnik.

All visitors are invited to join in discovering the secrets of the world of technology: its developments, transformations and breakthroughs on the ground, deep underground and up in the air. How does technology harness the four elements? Why does a light bulb burn? Can today's technology fulfil its task without human operation? There are answers to these and many other questions, which turn out to be entertaining and often amazing.
