Wetterau Heritage Railway

The Friends of the Wetterau Heritage Railway is about 20 km long and crosses the fertile Wetterau, a landscape north of Frankfurt/Main. The railway enthusiasts who maintain the facilities are doing it on a voluntary basis and on their own initiative, running their ‚business‘ as professionally as a ‘real‘ railway network. Three diesel engines and a steam locomotive alternatively operate the heritage trains, which are always joined by a Bismarck steam locomotive while the carriages vary according to the occasion. Get aboard and be part of an unforgettable train ride across the Wetterau.
