Ukraine National Chernobyl Museum

The disaster at the Chernobyl power station in the Ukraine on 26 April 1992 was the worst in the history of nuclear power generation. The objective of the museum is to help humanity to understand the implications of what happened. Multi-media presentations explain the technology of the power stations and the reasons for the meltdown of the reactor. There are graphic representations of the ruined buildings, and of the exclusion zone around it. The horrors of the genetic consequences of the radiation leak, particularly the deformities caused in newborn humans and other animals are fully illustrated. This is the most disturbing of all industrial museums but the messages it conveys are of supreme importance.
