Skoda Museum

The Skoda factory in Mlada Boleslav, 72 km N of Prague, traces it origins from 1895 when Vlaclav Laurin and Vlaclav Klement began to manufacture bicycles, soon progressing to motor cycles, and in 1905 to motor cars. The present factory, dating from 1945, the principal motor manufacturing plant in the Czech republic employing 19,000 people, has been part of Volkswagen group since 2000.

The museum was established in 1995, and re-displayed in 2005 to commemorate the centenary of the first Skoda motor car. It includes many vehicles and interactive displays that illustrate systems of manufacturing cars.
