The making of light: museum of energy

The power station of Minero Siderúrgica de Ponferada, MSP, in the province of Léon in north-west Spain was established 1918 and generated electric power between 1920 and 1971. The mining company that owned it became the largest coal producer in Spain. The power station is now preserved and visitors can see how electricity can be produced from coal, and how it re-shaped people’s lives in the twentieth century.
