Private Collection of Antique Cars

This is a display of about 100 vehicles collected by HSR Prince Rainier III of Monaco, and visitors are reminded by the voice of HSH Prince Albert at the entrance that it is a private collection that visitors are welcome to see, but not a museum. It includes examples of high quality motor cars from every decade of the 20th century, including a De Dion Bouton of 1903, a Panhard Levassor of 1913, a Hispano Suiza of 1928, a Cadilac of 1953 and a Lamborghini Countach of 1986, as well as examples of the most expensive models built by Maserati, Jaguar, Mercedes and Rolls Royce. There are also some good examples of cars with more humble pretensions including a Model-T Ford of 1924, a Mini and a Fiat 100 with basketwork seats. The collection also includes six horse-drawn carriages used for ceremonial occasions by the Monaco royal family.
