Killinkoski Old Factory

Killinkoski is a village in the Häme region of central Finland, 21 km north of Virrat and 23 km south of Ähtäri, where a ribbon factory flourished for more than a century. The factory is now a museum where visitors can see the machines for ribbon manufacture imported from France and Germany as well as samples of the factory’s products which include ribbons of many kinds, but also woven labels produced for clothing manufacturers. Ribbons can be purchased in the museum shop. The village is a lively tourist centre where, in addition to the ribbon museum, visitors can see art exhibitions, markets and a collection of historic cameras.
