DIVA. Antwerp Home of Diamonds

Since the beginning of the 20th century, Antwerp has been the world's most important centre for the processing and trading of diamonds, after the city had already been a famous diamond centre in the 16th century, but lost its importance when the country was divided into the Northern and Southern Netherlands. Today, approximately 80% of the world's rough diamonds and about half of all cut stones pass through the city. The diamond district is home to three of the major diamond exchanges and to countless jewellers and companies dealing in rough and polished diamonds.

DIVA leads into the glittering world of diamonds, jewellery and precious blacksmith's art, where outstanding craftsmanship, fascinating stories and impressive stagings meet. From her Wunderkammer or Room of Wonders, through the dining-room to DIVA’s boudoir: six spaces replete with beguiling objects illustrate the complete BrillAntwerp story. A multimedia globe will show why Antwerp has been the diamond centre of the world for 570 years. Or visitors can take a seat at DIVA’s surrealist arrangement of tables and soak up the atmosphere of decadence and abundance.
