De Panoven Brick Works

The De Panoven brickworks in the far east of the Netherlands were closed down in 1983. Visitors still can see everything here: the machines which are all still in working order, the sheds where the bricks were dried, the tools, the various practical items and of course the Zigzag kiln dating back to 1924, the last of its type in Western Europe. In the museum you can find out more about how bricks were made locally and learn about the long history of the craft from the Romans to the present day.
