Santa Barbara Mining Trail

The CMSB Foundation manages the Santa Barbara Mining Trail, a hiking, historical, cultural and landscape itinerary of 500 km divided into 30 stages. The route runs along the mining paths walked by miners during the great mining epic. Walking along this Trail, you will encounter mines and industrial archaeological sites from the Sardinian mining era. The Santa Barbara Mining Trail, in italian the Cammino Minerario di Santa Barbara, is developed within the territory of the Geo-mining Park of Sardinia. The CMSB Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the tangible and intangible mining heritage, offering hikers a unique opportunity to discover the history of the miners and their cultural identity.

The CMSB Foundation is founder and member of the European Mining Routes of Santa Barbara Federation, a network dedicated to promoting mining heritage across Europe. The Federation promotes routes that explore ancient mining paths, accessible through sustainable tourism methods such as hiking, cycling, or horseback riding. These itineraries, located in various European mining regions, provide a unique opportunity to discover the rich industrial mining heritage in a sustainable way, immersing visitors in the history and culture of the mining communities that shaped these landscapes
