The Museum of the Hungarian Petroleum Industry displays many large machines chiefly of the 20th century. Machines relating to the extraction of crude oil include drilling rigs, boring engines, beam pumps, compressors and equipment for preventing blow-outs. One of the most spectacular exhibits is the 41 m high Gulliver drilling mast that worked between 1958 and 1969. The refining stage of the industry is illustrated by a distillation column and plant for producing lubricating oil. Other exhibits relate to pipeline technology. Outstanding figures in the history of the industry are commemorated in a statue park.
