As a branch of the National Agricultural Museum in Prague, the Ostrava Museum is dedicated to food and also presents over 40 historical agricultural machinery, mainly tractors and machines for processing fodder and grain. It is housed in two former factory halls on the Dolni Vitkovice steelworks complex, which were previously used as a magazine for the Agricultural Museum. In the 'Food Depot', visitors interactively learn all about food, get to know the basic types and are informed about current topics. In changing exhibitions the 'Gallery of Czech Food' presents everyday products that can be bought in shops and markets. About a third of the food on display comes from the Moravian-Silesian region.
