"Inhulets Mining and Processing Plant" Open Cast Mine

The open cast mine is a part of Private Joint Stock Company "Inhulets Mining and Processing plant" and presents one of the most powerful and deepest pits in Europe, with maximum depth of 426 meters. The pit was created in 1955.

Iron ore production here amounts to 38 million tons annually. The extraction of iron ore is carried out from the surface, as well as from the depths using special vehicles. The ore is transported by conveyor machines. The pit stores huge reserves of ore, which won’t be exhausted till 2050.

The Pit of the Inhulets Mining and Processing plant is well-know not only for its size, but also for ots beauty. One can find here huge variety of rocks, which make the pit to opalesce with myriad of different colours.
