Deutsches Museum Flugwerft Schleissheim (Schleissheim Hangar)

The aeronautical collections of the Deutsches Museum in Munich have been displayed since 1990 on an airfield at Oberschleissheim on the northern side of the city that was constructed between 1912 and 1919 by the Koniglich-Bayerische Flieggentruppen (Royal Bavarian Flying Corps). The hangars and other buildings are some of the earliest of their kind to survive anywhere in Europe. Visitors are able to see the museum’s well-equipped conservation workshops. Exhibits include 25 piston-engined aircraft, mostly German, Russian and American, 11 jet aircraft, 18 gliders and two flight simulators.
