Beykoz Kundura is considered one of Turkey's most important industrial sites. In 2005, the complex was revitalised and has since been used for creative industries. Today, it houses a film studio for television and film productions and the Kundura Memory Archive and Research Centre. It offers space for an archive, a library, exhibitions and rooms for workshops.
The permanent exhibition ‘Memory of Kundura’ offers a glimpse into the production history of the Sümerbank Beykoz leather and shoe factory, one of the cornerstones of Turkey's industrialisation process. It displays machines, photographs, documents and numerous objects donated by former workers and their families. The eyewitness interviews conducted since 2015 provide an insight into the working world.
