Associazione Archivio Storico Olivetti

The Olivetti Historical Archive was founded in 1986 at the initiative of Paolo Mancinelli, then Secretary General of Olivetti, in collaboration with the Adriano Olivetti Foundation. On March 12, 1998, the Archive became an independent entity with the establishment of the “Associazione Archivio Storico Olivetti” (Association for the Olivetti Historical Archive). Founding members and supporters included Olivetti, the Municipality of Ivrea, and the Province of Turin. In the same year, the archives and documentary collections preserved by the Association were declared of significant historical interest by the Archival Superintendency for Piedmont and the Aosta Valley of the Ministry of Cultural and Environmental Heritage.

The Association is committed to collecting, organizing, preserving, studying, and promoting the extensive documentary and bibliographic heritage related to the history of the Olivetti Company and the Olivetti family. This unique collection consists of millions of documents, letters, books, magazines, posters, drawings, photographs, audiovisual materials, products, and more.

The Association engages in a variety of activities: it assists scholars and researchers in consulting archival and library materials and offers guided tours of its permanent exhibition Olivetti #StoriaDiInnovazione. The exhibition aims to showcase Olivetti's industrial project, which was focused on innovation and technological excellence while paying close attention to the social and cultural aspects of work. Additionally, the Association organizes exhibitions, events, and conferences to promote and deepen knowledge of Olivetti's history and values, often in collaboration with public and private entities.
