The museum is in a fine historic brewery building in the Aldaris district of Riga with a working brewery. The brewery was first established here in 1865. The museum displays a brewing hall with its coppers and equipment from 1938. Visitors can learn about the techniques of making beer and the many stages in the process from the different raw materials to the finished products. The museum explains the differences between the 55 main beer varieties in the world. Visitors can also see the working Aldaris brewery and taste samples of its beers with the advice of an expert sommelier. It is now part of the Carlsberg Group.
