The Rammelsberg Museum and Visitor Mines is inscribed as a World Cultural Heritage site - 1,000 years of mining history come alive at this impressing mining site at the rim of the Harz mountain range. Part of this past is the mighty wooden scoop wheel. In the late 18th century it was used underground to drive the pumps and convey the silver and copper ores.
