When king Frederik 5 moved the gun foundry from Copenhagen to the countryside in Northern Zealand it was enlarged by the powder works and several workshops. The lack of skills was evident, but people were successfully attracted from different parts of Europe. The founder came from Sweden, the drillingmaster from Strasbourg, the blacksmith from Germany and so on.
