Did you know ...

the place in Europe with the most windmills standing in orderly rows?

It's the Netherlands, of course. The 19 windmills of Kinderdijk near Rotterdam are a powerful evocation of the times when the drainage pumps of the western provinces were completely operated by wind-power. The 18th century structures with their impressive sails are arranged in orderly rows on either side of drainage canals. A walkway gives access to the mills, some of which are open to visitors. In 1997 the windmills of Kinderdijk were designated a UNESCO World Heritage site.
