Lower Silesian industrial and Railway Museum
The museum was founded to protect, preserve and safeguard industrial heritage of Lower Silesia. In a former locomotive depot in Jaworzyna Śląska, date back to the end of XIX century. It houses an exhibition of the rolling stock collection dated from 19th century to the 1970`s. The museum consists of more than 50 locomotives, over 50 wagons, cranes and a snow plough positioned on 1,5 kilometers long tracks. Occasionaly Museum organize trip to some interesting places using steam locomotive. The Museum also displays various industrial artifacts collection from Silesia region.
Visitors can exposure of industrial machines and appliances, stationary steam engine, printing machines, farm and handicraft equipment and Silesian origin household appliances or rare big collection of Lower Silesians photographs. The exhibition’s highlight is a collection of the genuine Harley–Davidson antique and vintage motorcycles from 1924 till 1978. American motorcycle icons are exposed as a part of the history of communication section.
The Museum organizes occasional events concerts, performances or other activities for local inhabitants and tourist presenting industrial exchibits in use. In the Museum’s outdoor area (2,5 hectares) there is a place for camping equipped with the necessary facilities. We provide accommodation in the sleeping cars coaches. For the railway enthusiast and railroad photographers we offer absolutely unique train spotting apartment. Crossing trains make the unrepeatable atmosphere.
