First ERIH meeting in Czech Republic

9th March 2017 at the ERIH Anchor Point Old water treatment plant in Prague - Bubenec

The first meeting of ERIH CZ took place on March 9th 2017 in Old water treatment plant in Prague - Bubeneč, Czech Republic. The site is one of four Anchor points in the Czech Republic and the meeting was attended by almost 40 participants from industrial sites, museums, technical universities and regional tourism authorithies.
Also all three other Anchor points (DO Vítkovice, Pilsner Urquell brewery, "Michal" mine in Ostrava) were present at the meeting sharing their expertise, knowhow and best practice.

ERIH organisation, its aims and membership conditions were introduced by Tomáš Raboch, ERIH National Representative CZ and Adam Hajduga, vice-president of ERIH. Expert presentation on Czech industrial heritage as an important part of our cultrual history and new tourist attractions was given by Prof. Ing. Arch. Tomáš Šenberger from Czech Technical University in Prague.

Representatives of all industrial sites had a chance to introduce their current activities, projects and ways of presentation. The meeting was followed by a discussion and a guided tour of the Old water treatment plant.

As an outcome of the meeting, several participants expressed their interest in attending the annual ERIH meeting in Copenhagen and becoming ERIH members. All sites and representatives would appreciate ERIH national meeting to be held on regular annual basis. Also forming or joining regional/thematic ERIH routes will be a topic to further explore and develop in the Czech Republic.

The next national meeting in the Czech Republic will be held in the beginnig of 2018 in one of the Anchor points.
