On the 17th and 18th of June, 131 monuments highlight industrial history between the Baltic and North Sea
Port facilities, locks and ships, lighthouses and water towers, bridges and mills, factories and power stations: 380 events at 131 heritage sites take the Industrial Heritage On the Water Festival into the fourth round. From Cuxhaven to Rostock, from the Lüneburger Heide (Luneburg Heath) to Kiel, guided tours and demonstrations, visits and "monuments in action" explain the historical technology and working world, welcoming those interested in culture, history and technology as well as sports enthusiasts and families.
Every two years, the successful festival presents industrial monuments that have often remained unknown to the public in the metropolitan region of Hamburg and beyond. The connecting element is technology that uses water, dominates water and lies on the water. The program is as diverse as the participating industrial heritage sites.
What monuments are exactly part of the festival? Where are trips on historic cargo and work ships available? What about industrial heritage bike or kayak tours? Are there any special offers for families? Here you can download all important information and the complete program here.
