The small city of Freiberg in Saxony was dominated by the green conference bags of the TICCIH delegates. From 30th August to 4th September approx. 370 industrial heritage experts from all over the world discussed ways to develop industrial heritage sites, exchanged experiences, listened to numerous presentations and attended workshops.
The ERIH network, which also held its annual general assembly in Freiberg, invited to a conference part under the headline "Industrial Heritage and tourism" and discussed the idea of a TICCIH tourism section.
This was identified to be an important task and ERIH will follow this up with the TICCIH network. The programme was completed by interesting excursion to some of the sites of the IBA SEE as well as a trip by historic steam train to the industrial heritage in Chemnitz.
The presentations from the conference will soon be available on the TICCIH website www.ticcih2009.de
