10 to 15 August 2010 more than 240 events at 150 sites will take place in the region between Miltenberg at the river Main and Bingen at the Rhine.

The region can be discovered by foot, by bike, by ship and by historic trains. This year´s focus is on "Automation - humans and machines".

Twentse Welle; just something else this summer!

Spend this summer to visit TwentseWelle in Enschede. TwentseWelle, last year named one of the finest new museums of Europe, has a variety of offers this summer for all ages.

In the temporary exhibition space, the exhibition "Resilience, echo of a disaster to see" about the fireworks explosion in Enschede, which took place 10 years ago.
For children there is an exciting vacation search tour Twente Jelle and adults can use the audio tour, narrated by Astrid Joosten.


Telegraph connection Hoorn-Medemblik Steam Tram Museum in action

This summer at the Hoorn-Medemblik Steam Tram Museum the special project "Authentic kilometer" will be completed by establishing and using a real telegraph connection between Twisk and Opperdoes.

After the restoration of the station buildings and the adaptation of the infrastructure, now the telegraph line is in operation, with which messages between the stations about the train service can be exchanged with real working and writing telegraph apparatus.


The Second Night of Absurdity in The “Guido” Mine, Zabrze

On 15 May 2010, the Second Night of Absurdity took place, in the frame of the European Night of Museums, in the Historic ”Guido” Coal Mine in Zabrze.

This year’s event was the continuation of the Night of Absurdity 2009, when the guests were amazed by a beach (with real sand and even sea shells) or periscopes installed 320 meters underground.
