Parco Nazionale Tecnologico e Archeologico delle Colline Metallifere

The Park was born to preserve the history of metallurgy and mining activities carried on during three millenniums in the territory of the "Colline Metallifere Grossetane" (Metalliferous Hills in the province of Grosseto) ", activities that influenced the cultural landscape.

The territory of the "Colline metallifere" represents a different tourist route for its industrial and mining sites, for its natural resources and for its wonderful examples of medieval art and architecture.

The national archaeological technological Park of the "Colline metallifere" comprises an immense zone, from hills to the sea, from the common of Grosseto to the borders with the provinces of Siena, Pisa and Livorno. Finally, the agricultural tradition and the peasant culture offer an original oenological and gastronomic characteristic: in this territory there are several typical "trattorie" (restaurants) and traditional "botteghe" (shops) that present the ancient tastes of foods and wines produced exclusively respecting nature.
