Lagunalonga by Venti di Cultura

Lagunalonga is an interpretive route of the cultural patrimony in the lagoon of Venice, promoted by the association Venti di Cultura, involving tourists, citizens and stakeholders. Venti di Cultura is a non-profit association specialized in water routes and cultural networks.

The water route berths in places particularly significant and already structured to communicate identity and rich heritage. These docking stations are the museums of the productions, material culture and environment, scattered in the lagoon of Venice (North and South) and in the surrounding rivers and canals (Piave and Brenta), as like as the museums of: Glass in Murano, Lace in Burano, Fishing on Chioggia and Pellestrina, Footwear in Stra, Agriculture in Dolo, Maritime in Arsenale and Land Reclamation in San Donà.

Lagunalonga is a yearly event of five days, in the third weekend of July, when a fleet of houseboats cross the extraordinary built landscape of the lagoon, and stops over the museums, with multicultural events open to the local population. Enhancing collections, patrimonies and territories so different, Lagunalonga not only invites to a new way of cultural tourism but also strengthens the sense of belonging to the territorial community, based on the water.
