The Second Night of Absurdity in The “Guido” Mine, Zabrze

This year’s event was the continuation of the Night of Absurdity 2009, when the guests were amazed by a beach (with real sand and even sea shells) or periscopes installed 320 meters underground.

This year’s main attraction, and again a total surprise, was prepared for visitors in the “Guido” mine 320 meters underground - also in mining excavations: It was the happening based on C.S. Lewis’ book “Chronicles of Narnia”. Wandering the dark mine tunnels tourists were entering the Old Wardrobe, and - through it – reaching the fairy land of Narnia. They could do the shopping on the main fair there, of course after exchanging Zlotys for Narnia currency - Narny. A multimedia chamber of the Land of Ice with the Frozen Lake was the next attraction. It was a real ice rink prepared there, probably the deepest located ice skating ring in the world! Animators walking here and there played various roles – archers, newsboys etc. creating even more magical atmosphere. In the old pumping hall a labyrinth was arranged, with many surprises – like the Magical Tree or a true Fortune-teller. Tired with attractions guests could rest in the Fairy-tale Inn, listening to the stories of the Mysterious Sailor… the Night of Absurdity will certainly remain in the memory of the participants for a long time.
