the capital of ceramics industry?

In the 19th century Stoke-on-Trent, Longton, witnessed the settlement of so many pottery works that it gained the reputation of the centre of ceramics industry. The golden days are gone, though, with lots of facilities fuelling their kilns for the last time during the 1960ies. One of these plants, Gladstone Pottery, began in 1974 to recount the success story of Stoke-on-Trent, and to keep the clay business alive for further generations.
